Harp Instead
for assisted living and nursing care facilities

Harp Instead can provide brief, private visits for residents who do not attend regular group events. This hard to reach population can still enjoy the benefit of special programs by using the Harp Instead concept of private concerts.

Three brief 15 minute visits can be scheduled within a one hour period of time, bringing the treat of a private mini concert to three residents or groups of residents otherwise unserved by life enchancing programs. When booked in two hour blocks of time, these visits may be booked in advance on a regular basis. Scheduling ahead allows family members to know when the visit will occur so that they can take part with their loved one.  When the music is personal, it doesn't take much to make it a special event.

Facilities that schedule regular visits find greater benefit as the relationship between the musician and residents grows. Residents feel pampered as their favorite song is remembered from visit to visit. Regular visits may include themed programs, special private visits and other creative events.

Including harp music in your monthly birthday party allows the residents and your music to develop a relationship that tailors the event to them personally.  Music offered only to those with birthdays in a given month creates an exclusive atmosphere for the birthday guests and a sense of anticipation in those awaiting their turn to enjoy. Over time favorite requests are remembered and on subsequent years, residents find their favorite song awaiting them, enhancing the experience the second time around. Far from falling into a rut by using the same music each month, you'll find you've improved the celebration many times over.

Harp Instead's themed programs bring intellecutally stimulating programs that combine history, great music and beauty that will generate conversation at the dinner table. A list of themed programs is available with many of the program options listed.  If you are celebrating a special event, a program can be tailored for that focus.
